A new vision for Steiner inspired community of up to 300 people in Costa Rica, putting all of Steiner’s legacies into practice, as model for the future. We have identified an ideal 60 hectare (over 120 acres) of unsprayed land in the Chirripo river valley. The Chirripo mountain is the tallest mountain in Central America, and the Chirripo river provides some of the cleanest water available. According to Central American indiginous elders, this mountain houses the Spirit of Central America. The property includes primary rainforest, and natural water features.
Costa Rica provides an ideal environment for a community. Firstly, it is one of the most stable countries in Central and South America, largely because it has no standing army, and a deep devotional faith. The country houses the Black Madonna, a spiritual relic in the Basilica of the Angels in Cartago. Secondly, the country is home to 5% of the world’s biodiversity. The Mother is alive and well here! Practically, the climate is ideal for growing food, housing people, and the country provides ample access to natural materials for building, such as bamboo and teak. Finally, there are virtually no zoning and building restrictions, leaving the community free to develop the land and buildings as it requires.Once we are able to demonstrate, with reasonable success, the first Michael Community, we would intend to scale and expand, as demand arises, to grow new branchs and assist existing communities in implementing the full gamut of Steiner’s works.
Certainly, there are already many Steiner inspired communities operating and implementing one or more of the legacies given by Rudolf Steiner, such as a Waldorf school or biodynamic farm. We will work to connect with and link them together in a network of solidarity and support- cultural, social and economic. No Records Found
